okay, today's your day to become a military general. i was doing an ambush planning today when a consideration came to my mind.
your specific enemy comprises an element of armour and an element of infantry troops.
the situation is, you need to delay the infantry troops from reinforcing an objective, while the armour element is providing the security. (take note: ultimately, it is the infantiers that will reinforce the objective, not the armour)
and now, at your ambush site, you can plan for artillery fire.
let's take for example, the armour element is in the front of the convoy to provide the security, and the infantry on wheels is behind.
where would you plan your artillery fire, assuming that you can only hit either the armour or the infantiers.(this would also determine how you plan the composition of your ambush elements, and also your weapon systems)
put simply, is it the armour, or the infantry that you want to take out?
tell me, what is your choice.
also, during one of the dialogue (in a sense, monologue) sessions, i just happen to put some of the points brought up into a more general phrasing. so, here goes:
Don't just follow what others say. Learn to be critical and question, especially when in doubt. By questioning, we are actually adding clarity to our thoughts. and ultimately, learn details. and understand it YOUR way, for there is no other way that you can know better.
The very fundamental principle of warfare is to kill, or not get killed. In planning, you plan not only to kill, but also to not get killed. (Many a time, people merely plan to kill, but did not plan to 'not get killed')
Introvert is not equal to an individual with an inability to communicate well.
Extrovert is not equal to an individual with an ability to communicate well too.
Are you as intellectual as you perceive yourself to be? What is the gauge of intellect, then?
Be smart, plan the withdrawal route before you start on the approach route. If there is no withdrawal route to start, quit.
Life is not one-sided. The only constant is probably, change. And the best way to live it is, imo, to predict what comes next. Learn to REACT to ACTIONS. (Situate your predictions, live in denial, and you will probably die without knowing why. Oh, and sometimes when you know it ain't gonna happen, trust yourself.)
oh yes, i know it sounds like, and looks like it's all in the army context. so... if you actually think so, you're right! i just made an attempt to generalize the statements and add in some of my comments, such that it might become more understandable. pardon me if it still isn't, or that i don't make any sense. nonetheless, i'd still like to know your thoughts on any issue that i post on my blog, be it that you agree, or disagree with anything. just let me know, how you think.
To me, perspective matters.
oh and something fun that i found out, and it rhymes.
echelon for commandos - SOF CRF NSF
(sorry if this is an insult for CRF, you can switch yourself around with SOF if you please)
i'm sorry if you don't share a common understanding in this, but you can try to find out!
oh, on hindsight, it might be a little lame.
and i finished a map planning exercise today. tomorrow would be coastal hook operations discussion and also tactics test revision. Simple day, hope it ends early. i'm off to bed, goodnight!
