When will we stop thinking in term of fault, blame, but a deep understanding of reasoning and psychology? When will we stop perceiving right as right, and wrong as wrong, but a multitude of choices and priorities?
Each of us are individuals, each of us are unique, and each of us have our priorities. What we perceive as right might be wrong to another, for the simple reason that we subscribe to different beliefs, which stems from differential cognitive reasoning and psychology. So before we go on about right or wrong, maybe it would be better to ask yourself whether it is an opinion or a fact. If it's the former, take a moment to think if you are the one that's wrong.

Standard of living vs cost of living.
If I were a foreigner, I would definitely come to Singapore to work and then go back for retirement after a year or so. Enjoy the standard of living without paying the cost of living.
Comparisons.
Comparison is the basis of unhappiness, and also the basis of appreciation.
If you think you're unhappy looking at other kids with 'better' toys, more pocket money, etc, at the age of approximately 6 to 10, maybe you'll feel better knowing that your parents were living through the Japanese occupation. Time to start appreciating them trying to give you a life they never had.

Thought processes.
1) Why do we mourn the death of a few people, but (choose to) ignore that millions are starving and dying?
Put things in perspectives. Don't let sensationalism get to you.
2) Why do we, more often than not, try to understand and empathize with our friends but not our parents?

Love is not... Love is...
Loving another is not about spending time together, not talking about the daily happenings in life, not dressing up for a date, not doing something for the other, those are aspects of a relationship that does not epitomize love.
What matters more in a relationship is the desire to keep the other company, the desire to find out more about the other, the desire to understand the other, the desire to impress the other constantly.
These might seem like the same thing when translated into actions, but they are fundamentally different at the intention level.
Everyone have different perspectives on what constitutes love. What is yours?

I agree with most of it.
While I am not yet the 'perfect' boyfriend that one can find, I hope that one day I will learn how to be one. And I hope one day I will find a 'perfect' girl too.
Love transcends boundaries. That all we need to know.

The significance of compromising.
Things go wrong when we try to be ourselves, when we stop trying to understand each other. As always, a relationship is not about two perfectly similar persons coming together, but the meeting of two people who embraces their differences, because it matters more than things work out; because they matter too much to each other for them to walk away and leave things as they are.

The big question is, why am I closed as I am. What was the trigger, what caused it?
I guess, I was made to believe that when I'm down and out, nobody will be there to help and pick me up.
I guess I never really wanted to share my vulnerability with people who are not there with me when I need them. It's a chicken and egg issue, but I guess I just can't be the one to make the first move. I guess I can only let it remain as it is.
Why would we try to impress someone who is prejudiced against us? Why change yourself for someone who doesn't care enough? Why try to make someone who is emotionally immature to be less so than what you know? Pick yourself up and recite the lines.
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.
To a certain extent, religion is good because it guides you along when all else fails.
P.S. It's really scary to be entertaining so much suicidal thoughts in your mind. But then I ask myself, just why am I being so hard on myself for something that doesn't really matter? Maybe really really deep down inside, it matters. It matters that I find acceptance, that someone understands me. But this me that I created was made to believe that it doesn't really matter, and it's really difficult to comprehend the cognitive dissonance.

Why would you hold on to something that half of you is uncertain whether to hold on to?
One day, you will find someone who is truly worthy for you to hold on to, and when that day comes, don't let him go; don't ever let him go.
All said, just like love, I do not believe that someone like that will magically appear. There is nobody that will turn up in your life that you will somehow love more than yourself, you have to love them in the way that you want to. It is a choice. But I guess we all have different takes on such issues, and I will respect whatever you choose to believe in.

To begin with, I never really believed that perfectly similar people are perfect couples. It's the differences, and the willingness to accept those differences that truly matter in a relationship.
I guess this does not apply to marriage, but to friendship or any other relationship.
Together, we must learn to give more than what we take. If not, there will be nothing left in the 'bond', and there will be nothing left to be cherished. Love, respect and understand, for these are the fundamentals of every basic form of relationship, even acquaintanceship.
Chase happiness, but don't forget to create happiness. At the end of the day, nothing truly matters like happiness do. (:
Giving/sharing
Friends - I will give/share at most half of what I have.
My other half - I will give/share all that I have, for nothing compares in the face of eternity.
My other half - I will give/share all that I have, for nothing compares in the face of eternity.
Perfect love.
Forever can only be a promise made by two.
I don't believe in forever, but that doesn't mean that forever cannot be the ideal.
All said, what are feelings if there is no future?
And surely you will have 'feelings' for people along the walk of your life.
But there can only be one forever you can give, and what makes the other person special is that he/she is the one that you will give your forever to, the one whom you will commit your forever to.
I will ever be looking forward to the day where I can find forever in a certain someone, one whom I can truly love, forever, and loves me, forever.
#sweetideals
A friend posted this, but this is something I would never understand.
Why would you commit to someone who doesn't commit to you?
This would be so much better if they added the ^not - I promise not to wait for you.
Move on, experience life, because there are just so many other things that life can offer you. Who knows, one day you might just be happier than you thought you'd ever be. (:
I'm so very thankful to all my friends who were there for me recently, who talked to me and cheered me up. Surely did help me to put in perspectives who my true friends were. (:
Once again, thank you all. I appreciate all of you in my life. <3 p="">3>

When I look at this, I see myself. A not so normal person trying to fight his way through reality against the odds. It sure is tough, but I will not back down without a fight. I will not give up without a fight. I will not.
Damn onion-cutting ninjas.

I need to rediscover the meanings to living, for all previous meaning are lost, even those I thought was meaningful.
Nonetheless, sure I am happy that I found a best friend, even if it was just for a short while. It felt great being able to confide in someone on every single thing.
I hope I will be able to find another, except that he/she will walk me through a lifetime.

Be thankful.
Always appreciate what you have, and be thankful for them, cherish them, love them the way they should be loved. You will never know if there is a 'tomorrow' to speak about.

Letting go.
"Let's forget about yesterday, create today and tomorrow. Living in the present moment."
Stay strong, you might be alone but you certainly have yourself. Stand tall, do not cry over spilled milk. Why be so hard on yourself over someone who chooses to leave? Haven't you already established the fact that if someone really cared, he/she would stay regardless of how difficult the problem is? Yes, no matter the situation, the one who leaves is the one in the wrong, and that is also one of the requirements of friendship previously discussed. Maybe she really isn't as good as you think she is, maybe you really don't mean as much to her as she means to you. Quit crying, it's time to accept the hard truths, get up and move on.
Didn't the Qur'an say "And surely what comes after is better for you than that which has gone before"?
These religious books, they surely are banks of wisdom.
There is a specific feeling which exists only when you run into someone about whom you had long forgotten. It’s probably most palpable when it’s an ex, but it can happen with friends who were once particularly close. It is comparable to a scab that seems to have been on your skin forever — a scrape which was once quite painful but has been so long in the healing process that you no longer notice its presence when you wash over it in the shower. You peel it off almost out of boredom and suddenly there is a drop or two of blood, something that vaguely resembles the wound it once was, now too distant to really cause any discomfort. These people are wounds which have healed over, which have never quite turned into scars but which have become just another part of your lived-in body.
Letting someone go — when it is a necessary act of self-preservation, something that has to come if you expect to move forward in life — is regarded as a kind of victory. You have successfully overcome an emotional trauma that once surrounded you like a kind of fog which prevented you from ever seeing the sun. People will tell you, always with the best intentions, that one day you are going to wake up and realize that you are okay, and your life is not immediately over because they are no longer a part of it. And this is true, though it’s not the net positive that we are so quick to label it as. Because it’s not as though you simply wake up one day and proclaim yourself fine, suddenly hearing birds chirp and children laugh after months of only your own oppressive silence. You simply start to forget, feeling the acute pain of the loss less and less as each day goes on. There will come a day when you don’t care, but you won’t notice it, because you will have other things to think about.
But in order to let that pain go, in order to remove this person from the place of power they have occupied for so long, you must let everything go. Perhaps in a very distant future, you will be able to pick and choose the memories you want to keep, but for a very long time, one memory will always bleed into another. You cannot simply think about the time the two of you sat on the beach for an entire night, talking about your childhood, drinking the second-least-expensive wine you could find in the store. Because when you allow yourself to think about that, it will remind you of them as a whole, and will lead into all of the terrible things that happened after that night — not the least of which being their eventual departure. They exist within us as whole people, stories with beginnings and endings, and in order to let go of them we cannot choose the things we want to isolate for nostalgia.
We have to stop caring what they would think if they saw us, stop worrying about running into them in the store, stop obsessing over the things we could have done differently to make them stay. And that means letting go of everything they meant to us, proving to ourselves that life can be just as good, just as beautiful, without them in it. When you realize, long after the fact, that you no longer care about someone — that what they are doing in life has no bearing on you, and vice versa — it feels very much like a small death. Who they were with you no longer exists, and you cannot even preserve it in your memory, for the sake of your own mental health.
I recently ran into someone I used to know very well. I hadn’t seen him in close to two years, and I barely recognized him when I crossed him on the sidewalk. I had forgotten that it was his neighborhood, had forgotten that we used to eat there, forgotten it all. And he looked different, different enough to be slightly unsettling. We exchanged words, but as people who had barely ever known each other. It was a spoken confirmation that things had indeed changed — that we had let one another go, out of necessity — and that the parts of ourselves we needed to erase to move on were just going to have to be forgotten. Of course, you never really forget anyone, but you certainly release them. You stop allowing their history to have any meaning for you today. You let them change their haircut, let them move, let them fall in love again. And when you see this person you have let go, you realize that there is no reason to be sad. The person you knew exists somewhere, but you are separated by too much time to reach them again.
We told each other we should get coffee sometime, but didn’t exchange our new numbers. We knew we weren’t going to see each other again.
