Something doesn't make sense to me - you said that me and you and you and him are totally independent issues.
If that were the case, why is your argument for us doing this be that your boyfriend will not like it? Why is something between you and him affecting something between me and you?
If that were the case, wouldn't our duty as friends simply be to remain platonic? It's not like we're the kind that can't be friends if we're not lovers, right? All we have to do is to keep things between us, well, platonic. Surely we can do that, can't we?
