The 75% team and the 99% team.
Even though both teams have a good shot at winning, it is the impossibility of losing that differentiates the two. Put statistically, the 75% team is 25 times more likely to lose than the 99% team.
It's easy to get a 75% team. All you have to do is to take players that are individually skilled and put them together. Most of the times you win, but sometimes you lose.
So, how do you move on from a 75% team to a 99% team?
Put simply yet incorrectly, it comprise of a myriad of factors ranging from tangible things like individual fitness, technique, tactics, to intangible things like maturity of players, decision-making, chemistry, mental strength and passion.
The only way possible for a team to progress to the 99% mark is when the entire team makes an effort and work together. Step by step, they increase the percentage slowly until they reach the end-state, the 99%; It is impossible for one player to make a 99% team.
Now, we are definitely a 75% team, but are we a 99% team?
