As we grow up, we gradually discover part of ourselves that differs us from another. Each of us are becoming more unique. We begin to see many perspectives, some of which we agree with, and some of we don't.
When we were young, we had friends whom we agreed with, as they run on similar principles in their lives. But as we grow up and out of the system, we begin to see that we are actually not as similar as we thought we were.
I'm so lucky to have one friend in my life who would probably understand me no matter how much I have changed.
For the majority of the rest, you think that you understand me, at least quite well. But the sad truth is that many of you don't, not at all.
I'm not saying that it's your fault that I don't trust you enough to start talking. Let us all move on from the society's norm of finger-pointing. If you really love to, maybe it's just me. Maybe I'm overly sceptical of the human nature. If it pleases you, great.
But the point here is to reflect on whether you have been a great friend to someone else, or have you merely been riding on their superficiality. And to reflect on whether or not you have any TRUE friends when being yourself, or have you already conformed so much to the society that you forgot who you are.
Remember, great friends are never perfectly coherent with each other. Nobody is. But they take the effort to recognize their differences, and respect these differences.
If it's time to move on, it's time to move on.
Maybe it's time to move on.
