It's not about losing your life, it's about the probability of losing it.

Sometimes, overseas deployment is not about fighting and losing their lives. But does this make them any less respectable? Think about it.

If any of your closed ones is deployed overseas, you don't really have to receive a phone call about them dying to be struck with fear. The very fact, that there is this probability of them losing their lives, any time, would have injected the deepest fear into your heart. How will you cope with this uncertainty? Think about it.

And did you really think that they are leaving nothing behind, to perform their duty? And did you really think they have nothing at all, in what they call their heartland? Or did you really think that they are void of feelings during their period of deployment?

In the SAF, nobody is forced to do overseas deployment. Respect them, respect their courage. Regardless of probability of death, they are WILLING to lay their life down, for us. Will you even, be able to deal with this uncertainty about the arrival of death, much less do what you are expected to do?

A life lost is not a statistic, it is the son/husband/father of another.
What if this another, were you?

These are the people, who are trying their best, to make the world, a better place.

Now, think.

What is the one and only deterrent factor, that is keeping us alive. Did you think the reason was..

Because of our federal reserves?

Because of our prosperous economy?

Because of the number of foreign talent in our land?

Because a superpower is going to deploy their troops to save us due to our diplomatic ties?

Or simply because we are friendly?

Criticizing the SAF? Think about it.

There is no common interest. There is only permanent(self) interest.

I hope everyone will start, learning to respect the fact that soldiering, is the very reason, why we are 45years old, and not a part of history.
