When you were young, you looked for me for everything- when you were lost, you cried for me; when you didn't know what to do, you went to me. I was your cornerstone.
But all you knew, was that i am supposed to take care of you, to look after you. I did- I climbed that extra step to look out for you; I ran that extra mile just to help you. I knew, i had one objective- To protect you. But it just simply slipped your mind, that i was just another newborn, just like you and everyone else.
But as you grew up, you learned. You learned to do the things that you didn't know how to do. That is when you depended less on me. And this dependence became less and less, till the day you no longer needed me. The day you became independent.
And you told yourself, "i don't need him."
And that's when i whispered to you, " Spread your wings and fly."
