STUDY STUDY

okay, today woke up at 2. supposed to wake up at 8-9am to study la. but then i wake up, off my alarm, and went back to sleep. hhahah.

luckily, i did a little bit of chem today la. nothing much with the papers. but here's 2 questions i'll like to ask:

1: 0.5Cl2(g)------------------>Cl(g)
ΔHat(Cl) OR ΔHat(Cl2)

2:Will you get H2N-C6H4-COOCH(CH3)2 when you reduce O2N-C6H4-COOCH(CH3)2 with H2 gas with Pt catalyst.

ah, help me out with these questions if you know the answer. haah. thanks

i found out the answers to the 2 questions alr.the answer to the first question is ΔHat(Cl), and the answer to the 2nd is yes. cause reduction of benzene ring will not occur because the only way to reduce a benzene(that i know of) is to heat H2 gas at a temp of 450K and 10atm, over a Ni catalyst, forming a cyclohexane. therefore, in question 2, benzene ring will not be reduced, and you will only reduce the nitro group, getting a amine group.

ah, i was reading and i found out that aminophenol is the breakdown product of paracetamol.
